Analysis Target

A target is an executable file you analyze using the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier .

VTune Amplifier supports the following analysis targets:

• Application

• Process

• System

Targets can be:

• Created with C/C++/Fortran/C#/Java* code

• Using the OpenMP* API, Intel Cilk™ Plus, or Intel Threading Building Blocks programming models

• Developed to run on the Linux* operating systems listed in Release Notes.

• VTune Amplifier XE: Developed to run on remote Linux* systems listed in Release Notes

• VTune Amplifier for Systems: Developed to run on remote Linux and Android systems listed in Release Notes

You can choose to analyze a standalone executable, including:

• an MPI application

• an application running on the Intel Xeon Phi™ coprocessor (with VTune Amplifier XE only)

For Intel® System Studio, VTune Amplifier supports targets:

• Developed to run on embedded Linux* systems listed in Release Notes

• Developed to run on Android* systems listed in the Release Notes
