Intel® VTune™ Amplifier
For performance analysis via amplxe-cl, you must specify an analysis target, which could be an executable file, a process, or a whole system. For remote analysis, you also need to specify a target system.
To define your analysis target, enter
$ amplxe-cl <-action> <analysis_type> [-target-system=<system>][[--] <target> [target-options]]
where
<-action> is a predefined or custom analysis (collect or collect-with)
<analysis_type> is the type of analysis to run. To see the list of available analysis types, enter:
amplxe-cl -help <action>
<target> is the path and name of the application to analyze. If target is not specified, the analysis profiles your system.
[target-options] are options for the application
This example runs a Basic Hotspots analysis for the tachyon application using the balls file as an argument.
$ amplxe-cl -collect hotspots -- home/test/sample home/test/dat/balls
