Intel® VTune™ Amplifier
The advanced hardware event-based sampling analysis types have the following associated predefined viewpoints:
Hotspots viewpoint to identify program units that took the most CPU time
Hardware Events viewpoint to see the event count and sample count for all collected processor events
Hardware Issues viewpoint to identify where the application is not making the best use of available hardware resources
General Exploration viewpoint to identify the issues caused by ineffective usage of the resources
Memory Usage viewpoint to identify where the application is generating significant bandwidth to DRAM
If you enabled the Collect stacks option during the event-based sampling analysis configuration, all these viewpoints are extended with additional metrics that help you identify most performance-critical call paths, analyze thread contention and power consumption on those paths.
