Intel® VTune™ Amplifier

Pane: CPU C/P States

To access this pane: Click the CPU C/P States sub-tab in the result tab.

Default pane position in window

Use the CPU C/P States pane to analyze the time spent in CPU sleep states and CPU processor frequencies on the system.

The CPU C/P States pane is the basic part of the CPU C/P States window that is available in the Platform Power Analysis viewpoint provided for the data collected with Intel® Energy Profiler collector.

Note

Platform Power Analysis viewpoint is available as part of energy analysis. Energy analysis is provided by the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier for Systems only. Energy analysis collection is supported for target Android*, Windows* or Linux* devices.

Grouping Levels (Granularities)

Each row corresponds to a grouping level (granularity). For the CPU C/P States analysis results, the available grouping levels are Core, Module, and Package.

Performance Metrics

By default, the performance data in the table is sorted in the ascending order. Each data column in the table corresponds to a performance metric.

The CPU C/P States pane displays the data per the following metrics:

Metric

Description

Core C-States Time by Core Sleep State

Time spent in CPU states (C0-Cn for cores, MC0-MCn for modules, and PC0-PCn for packages). Click the button to view how much time each core on the target system spent in each sleep state. To sort the data by a particular sleep state, click the required column header. Mouse over the column header to see the metric description.

Core P-States Time by Frequency

Time spent in each frequency. Click the button to view how much time each core on the target system spent in each frequency. To sort the data by a particular frequency, click the required column header. Mouse over the column header to see the metric description.
